About

I started this artistic journey very young. It was just part of my being. Creating came naturally, but it was fostered by my family as well.

I took art classes at the Pasadena Museum of Modern Art in the basement classrooms. My mother was one of the founding members of the Pasadena Art Alliance, initially a woman's group that raised money for the arts. They transformed the art scene all around LA and got the Pasadena Museum of Modern Art built and filled with  quite a collection including 450 works of The Blue Four that were donated by Galka Sheyer. That structure has been redone by Frank Gehry and is now the Norton Simon Museum.

The classrooms are gone. And so is the Mark di Suvero i-beam construction ( that stood in the parking area in front) I so loved that could be animated by pulling on heavy ropes. But my memory remains and the inspiration still drives me on.

I have been lucky enough to be an educator which made available to me programs like the Arts and Language Arts at the Getty and the Design Based Learning program presented through Art Center by Doreen Nelson (Frank Gehry's sister)

My college years included The School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston and I finished at UCSB where I stayed an extra semester to study with artist Anne Hamilton. While in school I experimented with acrylics and watercolor, photography, printmaking, sculpting with ceramics, wood, metal, and found objects, installations, happenings...Most of which I continue to do today (except the happenings)

When I settled back into Pasadena with a family and a house, I did what most artists do, I used the materials at hand: Palm fronds, sticks, plumbing materials, grass clippings...I worked on landscape and interior design. I used my own home as an architectural experiment.

Now I am combining my experience in landscape design, interior design, architectural design, and fine arts to create integrated art that works with the architecture and interior/exterior design.

The sky is the limit! I can populate the walls with art...or create the walls as art. I look forward to collaborating and synching with project organizers. My broad background suites me well for working with others on multifaceted projects.
